1937 Chevrolet US Army Staff Car. Precise 1:24 scale die-cast vehicle is manufactured by Liberty Classics, Libertyville, IL and distributed by Spec Cast, Dyersville, Iowa. Has US Army overseas markings (star in circle). Rear (rumble seat) opens and the vehicle has a detailed interior and undercarriage.

1937 marked a major styling move by Chevrolet when they redesigned everything in both the car and truck lines. The new design called "Diamond Crown" was attractive and clean. It was enhanced by a groove running from the front fender to a fade-out point located midway into the front doors. The name "Standard Series" was dropped and replaced the the "Master Series" and "Master Deluxe Series."

The 4-door model of the 1937 Chevrolet was tested by the Infantry Board at Ft Benning early in 1938 and was deemd to be "highly satisfactory," but did experience difficulties crossing "uneven terrain." It ultimately was accepted for Staff Car use.

This die-cast car is Mint in the original box (although the blue color on the top of the box is quite worn). Stock no. 10015.Manufactured in 1993. UPC code 0139010059481.
